CO-ED PICKLEBALL LEAGUE; AGES 18+

Register to play in our recreational 6-week pickleball league. This is a self-officiated league, with winners earning bragging rights! Each week you will be paired with a different playing partner. You will keep track of your individual wins and loss record each week.

PICKLEBALL LEVELS

INTERMEDIATE Rating 3-3.4
• Moves around the court in a balanced and safe manner.
• Fully understands the aspects of scorekeeping, rules, where to stand on the court during serve, receive of serve, and general play.
• Has stroke skills, backhand, forehand, volley with consistency and control.
• Familiar with where to stand in doubles play.
• Starting to work with a partner in communicating, covering court, and moving to net.

Come learn one of the fastest growing sports in America! This class will introduce the basics of pickleball including the fundamentals of serving, return of a serve, dinking, scoring, etc. This class is geared towards beginners and those who want to learn how to play pickleball.

Paddles will be provided to participants for the use during the program, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Ages: 8+ (each family member needs to be registered and kids must be accompanied by a registered adult)

Instructor: Neil Friedenburg

Neil Friedenberg is one of the owners of Prolite Pickleball, a company that for over 40 years, has been dedicated to promoting the sport of pickleball while manufacturing high performance pickleball paddles, grips, edge tape, bags, and accessories. Neil took over the company from his father Mark “Yoda” Friedenberg, a National Champion and Pickleball Hall of Famer, after working with him for several years. The nickname “Yoda” was given to Mark because of his skill and wisdom in all aspects of pickleball and his ability to always be ahead of his competition on the court. Neil grew up in Federal Way, Washington and started playing pickleball in the late 1980’s, with most of his games with or against his father and other nationally recognized players. Neil moved the company from Seattle, Washington to Wisconsin to be near his family. 

Neil currently has over a 5.0 DUPR rating and competes in tournaments at the highest level. Some of his best tournament results include:
-Gold in the Packerland Invite 2014
-Bronze in the New Year Invite in Terre Haute, IN (5.0 Men’s Division)
-Bronze in the Shamrock Shootout in Vancouver, WA-against Enrique Ruiz and numerous national champions (5.0 Men’s Division)
-Silver in the Spring Swing Tourney in Rockford, IL in Men’s Doubles and (2015)
-Gold in the Spring Swing Tourney in Rockford, IL in Men’s Doubles (2016)
-4th place finish at the Pickleball Fever in the Zoo Open Men’s Doubles Kalamazoo, MI (2015-16)
-Bronze Great Lakes Open Men’s 5.0 in Traverse City, MI
-Gold in both Men’s and Mixed Doubles 2016 Englewood, FL Suncoast Pickleball Classic
-Bronze in 2016 US Open 5.0 35+ Men’s Doubles in Naples, FL
-Bronze in 2018 Meijer State Games of Michigan-5.0 Men’s Doubles
-Silver in 2019 PROLITE Invitational Winter Classic-5.0 Men’s Doubles
