Pickleball

Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States.

It combines elements of badminton, tennis, and ping pong and is played with solid paddles and a perforated ball (similar to a wiffle ball) on a short, solid court with a low net.

With a shorter court and lightweight paddles, pickleball is a game that can be enjoyed by all ages and can be played as singles or doubles. Doubles is the more common form of play.

The Kettle Moraine YMCA offers multiple ways to be involved with pickleball!

We offer entry level classes for adults and youth and recreational leagues.

At our West Washington Branch we offer playtimes for pickleball in our basketball gyms. We have 5 lined courts within our gyms. You must sign up for playtimes on Pickleball Den. Click here for instructions.

Our West Washington Branch offers rentals in our multipurpose studios.

Studio 2 is a great space for practicing your pickleball skills.
Studio 3 is a great space for playing a game with your friends.

Y-USA will be hosting the first annual YMCA National Pickleball Tournament this November in Naples, FL!

The tournament takes place at the site of the U.S. Open Pickleball Championships and is a sanctioned USA Pickleball event.

The tournament includes a family-friendly, split age event on Friday, Nov. 7, where teams may have one player under age 18 and one player over age 39 to allow for parent/child and grandparent/grandchild teams. The remainder of the tournament is open to players 18 and older. Both YMCA members and non-members are invited to attend, and we look forward to seeing groups from Ys across the country showing their home Y pride in Florida!

Here’s why you should attend:

  • Pickleball aligns perfectly with our focus on social engagement, building relationships, strengthening community, and promoting health and well-being.
  • The tournament is a wonderful opportunity for your members to build camaraderie, cheer each other on, and represent their local Y at a national level.
  • Division winners earn an automatic invitation to register for the 2026 U.S. Open Pickleball Championships, bypassing the competitive lottery process!

Registration is open through Oct. 23.

Registration for the tournament is now open! Spread the word to your pickleball community and start building your team for Nationals!

The tournament takes place November 7-9 at the USOP National Pickleball Center in Naples, FL.
