A Fusion of Latin and International Music/Dance

Zumba® involves dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic music. The choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo, along with squats and lunges. This creates a dynamic, exciting, effective cardio workout. These fun, easy routines feature interval aerobic training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body as you dance. Join the party!

A Typical Class

Classes vary each week, and each instructor incorporates his or her own "flare" into the workout. Class typically begins a dance-based warm-up. Your instructor will then incorporate several world dance styles into the class. These might include but are not limited to merengue, salsa, reggaeton, mambo, rumba, flamenco, calypso and salsa. You will have so much fun you won't even know you are working out!

Attire and What to Bring

  • Come to class dressed and ready to move your body
  • Comfortable, functional clothing made of breathable material to allow air flow
  • Proper gym shoes that fit comfortably (we recommend cross-trainers or running shoes)
  • Water bottle
  • Sweat towel (available at the Welcome Desk)
