Joe Swanson Receives Leadership Award
[April 4, 2019] – Joe Swanson, current Kettle Moraine YMCA Board Member, received a Leadership Award on behalf of the Kettle Moraine YMCA at the Fall Leadership Conference for the Wisconsin State Alliance of YMCAs. Joe has served on the Wisconsin State Alliance board for the past eight years and is currently the Volunteer Chair of the State Alliance Board. The Wisconsin State Alliance of YMCAs Leadership Award recognizes those for their commitment and dedication to the Y.
Joe has provided outstanding leadership to the State Alliance Board during a time of transition and reorganization of the Alliance. Joe’s ability to be a strategic thinker and a voice of reason has served the Alliance well during his tenure of the board. In addition to his service to the Alliance, we are honored to have Joe serve our own Kettle Moraine YMCA Board of Directors for the past 17 years. Over that time Joe chaired our Strategic Planning process multiple times, served as Chair of our Program and Membership Committee, Development Committee, and served two years as Board President.
The Y is a powerful association of men, women and children from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of community. With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every youth and teen, improves the nation's health and well-being and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
