The YMCA is proud to offer this low impact water exercise program designed for people with arthritis and related conditions. The water provides gentle resistance to build muscle strength and supports joints to encourage free movement. Participants should be comfortable in the water but do not need to have swimming skills. Please check with your physician before beginning this program.
Located in the therapeutic Small Pool, participants work with non-impact movements. Occasionally the use of noodles and other equipment are incorporated into the class. Alternating leg and arm movements and balance techniques are used throughout the class period.
