BODYFLOW™ is the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

A Typical Class

Class begins with easy, flowing Tai Chi movements to leave your day behind, center yourself and warm your body. Next, your instructor takes the class through various yoga and Pilates sequences that tone and strengthen key muscle groups. Poses and stretches are used to create flexibility. The final 10 minutes are set aside for widely acknowledged mental and physiological benefits of meditation, which also enhances the effects of exercise.

Tips + Preparation

  • New to class? Arrive a little early so our instructor can give you some pointers
  • Allow yourself enough time by arriving a few minutes before class starts - you'll feel more relaxed

Equipment Needed

  • Personal yoga mat (the Y also provides yoga mats for this class)

Attire and What to Bring

  • Come to class dressed and ready to move your body
  • Loose-fitting, functional clothing made of breathable material to allow air flow
  • Sweatshirt or warmer layer for relaxation portion (optional)
  • Water bottle
  • Sweat towel (available at the Welcome Desk)
