Kettle Moraine YMCA Association' 50th Anniversary
On August 19, 1969, the Kettle Moraine YMCA received its charter as a branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee. The Kettle Moraine YMCA officially separated from the Milwaukee Y in 1973, becoming an independent association. In 1978, our Y opened its doors to a brand new full facility featuring a gymnasium, pool, locker rooms, multipurpose rooms, and five racquetball courts. Over the years we have continued to grow and expand, which lead to the opening of our River Shores Branch in 2005. In 2014, we acquired the Feith Family Ozaukee YMCA from Milwaukee, which initially opened on August 22, 1999.
Now, 50 years later we are proud to say that our Y programming spans 3 facilities, 6 child care sites, 16 community schools, 2 off-site fitness facilities, and an association office. To this day the Kettle Moraine YMCA has over 19,000 members, over 100 community-partnerships, and over 20,000 non-Y members through the community that participate in Y programs. Thank you to all who have supported our mission over the past 50 years.
