The Pilates Reformer is the most popular piece of Pilates equipment. Designed with a system of resistance springs and pulleys it aids in strengthening and enhancing the flexibility of all the muscles within the body. As in Pilates class, the emphasis of reformer training is specific to the core region which includes the abdominals, back, gluteus and thighs. Exercises are performed throughout all planes of movement and may also simulate sports and functional activities.
